On bustling Ocean Drive, we found the terrace of the Tides Hotel South Beach to be a nicely quiet spot where you can sink into the loungy chairs and do some cultivated people watching. Besides the fact that they kept bringing free soft drinks once the ice of the first one was melted (I assume that’s a lunchtime benefit), they also did great burgers. I became a big fan of the Tides Portobello Burger so I never tried anything else. Also we didn’t order anything alcoholic as we were there for lunch, but the drinks and wines seemed very expensive.
