I have been a terrible blogger recently. The reason is that we were so busy with other things. I am facing a time during which I would like to do everything at once. Patience has never been one of my strengths.<\/p>\n
End of September we had an amazing two weeks of vacation. We spent one week in the South of Turkey in a fantastic house with private pool. It was exactly what we needed after being busy with the building works at our apartment, moving and working lots during the summer months. We passed our days with relaxing,\u00a0swim in the pool, read lots,\u00a0enjoying the amazing views and sunsets from the terrace, sipping white wine and enjoying authentic Turkish food in the evening. And one big thing happened in Turkey: Mr C. and I got engaged! So be prepared for some wedding related posts every now and then.<\/p>\n
After returning from Turkey, we spent two days at home and realised that the days pass way too quick over doing nothing. At home, vacation doesn’t really feel like vacation. So we decided to drive to Umbria in Italy. After all we needed to start location scouting for the the wedding which was the perfect excuse for a short trip. It was also the first time that we took Cookie on a vacation and it was so much fun! We were lucky enough to find a super nice place to stay where Cookie was welcome too. The hotel has opened it’s doors last spring and it’s such a fantastic place. Lena, the owner of Nikis Resort<\/a>\u00a0showed us all rooms and let us pick the one we liked most. We felt at home instantly.<\/p>\n The first night we had an amazing dinner at La Locanda del Capitano<\/a> in Montone, a tiny medieval town close to the resort. The food was incredible and I probably had\u00a0the best Tiramisu of my life. Giancarlo, the capitano,\u00a0was extremely welcoming and even took time for a little walk to show us some parts of Montone. The next day we drove to Tuscany to look at a couple of potential wedding locations and stayed at a larger ‘Borgo<\/a>‘. Before returning home, we headed back to Umbria to stay another night at the Nikis and visit Gubbio. I know, crazy to drive so much back and forth but we sometimes the spontaneous things are the best. Also because it was a good reason to have dinner at Taverna del Lupo <\/a>and indulge in black truffle. Truffle lovers, get to Umbria!<\/p>\n Now that we are back home, we cannot stop thinking about buying a piece of land with an old house to restore and make it a vacation house or agriturismo. Wouldn’t it be nice to escape\u00a0the 8-5 office life and grow your own figs and\u00a0olives in the garden, spend most of your days outside and host guests from all around the world?\u00a0I know it sounds idealistic and\u00a0we are aware of the fact that it is extremely hard work but one needs dreams to be able to cope with daily life, isn’t it?<\/p>\n\n\t\t
